Announcing the new Durst Theta 76
Designed for small to medium sized labs, the new Theta 76 is an economically priced "Large Format" digital lab system.
Whilst Durstπs Lambda Labs, the Theta 50 and Theta 51, have set new standards of quality and production speed in professional portrait and wedding labs around the world, the Theta 76 offers the same outstanding quality and automated production with a lower capital investment.
The Theta 76 features specially designed proprietary fibreoptic LED technology for continuous printing on roll media up to 76.2cm (30in.). It is capable of handling print sizes from 9 x 13cm (3.5 x 5in.) up to an image width of 76.2cm (30 in.) and length up to 4m (13 ft.) with an output speed of up to 72cm (28in.) per minute. The systemπs flexibility offers a broad range of applications and new business opportunities for small and medium labs in the social and portrait, studio and minilab environments.
Other features include daylight loading by media cassette, a built-in cutter and a linked RA4 paper processor. The system includes a back marker to print on single cut images as well as on individual images in the case of nested prints. It can also be linked to an external, automatic cutting/sorting device, for fully automated print production.
New for the Durst Lambda Labs, Theta 50 and 51 is the Fotoba automatic XY cutter/sorter For maximum production, Durstπs Lambda Labs can be coupled to Fotobaπs in-line XY cutting/sorter. Designed for fully automated workflow, the Fotoba cutter/sorter can produce over 1,000 finished 20 x 25cm (8 x 10in.) prints per hour.

New high speed medium format scanner
To complement the Sigma Plus, one of the worldπs fastest film scanners, Durst has launched the Sigma 67 ≠ a fast medium format film scanner for portrait photo studios and photo labs at a highly competitive price.
Since its introduction in 2002, the Sigma Plus has set new standards for scanning quality and productivity in professional labs and provided Durst with a new core competence. The introduction of the smaller Sigma 67 is intended to extend Durst film scanners into new markets.
The new Durst Sigma 67 is a fast film scanner for colour negative, transparency and B/W and sizes up to 6 x 7cm. It is the perfect choice for social, fashion and portrait studios and of course professional labs with the need for high volume, high quality scanning. Very short scanning times with transfer rates up to 200MB per minute offer remarkable productivity. A high level of automation is achieved by Sigmaπs unique film advancement system. The Sigma 67 uses the same established software interface as the Sigma Plus and runs on any Windows based PC. Some of the many software features include: softproofing with ICC profiles, automatic scratch and dust removal, digital ICEÅ and a unique automatic image enhancement algorithm for colour negatives. Also there is no need to re-open images, to adjust or retouch them, if there is colour, contrast or density to correct, Durst offers a mini-keypad for direct access and fast correction of files.
