Great interest in Durst photolab equipment at Focus Exhibition
February, 2005

Durst demonstrates our commitment to photolabs with three new products, Sigma 67 high speed scanner, Theta 76 multi format lab , Print Terminal editing station.

Sigma 67 High Speed Scanner
This high speed scanner produces digital files from colour and B/W negatives and transparencies from film sizes from 35mm to 6x7 cm. It will create a 75MB scan off a 6x7 original in 15 seconds.

Very competitively priced, the Sigma 67 has many features designed for high productivity and first time copy rate. These include Digital ICEÅ automatic image defect removal, intelligent negative analysis and the image controlled by colour management and soft proofing with ICC profiles.

It will scan cut and roll films and can be output directly to other devices, for example the Durst Theta. Files can be supplied in Tiff, Jpeg, BMP, PPM and Raw formats.

The arrival of the Sigma 67 makes the same scanning technology a practical option for photographic studios, as well as small to medium labs in the social, portrait and minilab environment. High speed scanning has never been easier or more accessible.

Theta 76 multi format lab system
Large format digital imaging is now even more flexible with the new Theta 76, an economically priced ≥multi format≤ digital lab system, which features DFO technology for longevity of light source and low maintenance.

While the Durst Theta 50 and Theta 51 Lambda Lab set the standards of quality and productivity in professional portrait, wedding and commercial labs around the world, the Theta 76 offers the same outstanding quality and automated production with several unique features.

The Theta 76 offers high productivity ≠ up to 370 prints 20 x 25 cm (8x 10≤) per hour and prints sizes from 9 x 13 cm (3.5 x 5≤) to 76.2 cm (30≤) with a maximum length of 4m (13ft.). Other functions include; autonesting, multiple print function and variable back marker. The superb image quality of 254 PPI continuous tone incorporates latent image compensation without loss of productivity.

For fully automated production there is an optional automatic in-line cut and sort station.

Print Terminal editing station for digital files
For high-volume photo labs, Durstπs Print Terminal editing station will effectively handle the ever-increasing number of digital image files supplied from a variety of different sources. The Print Terminal will operate with a wide range of scanning and printing equipment and is not specifically for Durst equipment.

The Print Terminal will seamlessly integrate into any professional lab workflow. It is capable of loading in excess of 600 images (at 11.5 MB) per hour and will process digital image files in J-peg Tiff, BMP and photo CD formats, from any source, via any location on a labπs network. It will provide thumbnail viewing of jobs, automatic and easy correction of parameters like contrast, saturation, lightness and colours and offers real colour representation thanks to soft proofing with ICC profiles.
Final files can be sent directly to output devices such as mini-labs or large format laser and is especially efficient when paired with the Lambda, Theta and Epsilon printers. In addition it will increase productivity for Sigma Plus by up to 90% with minimised downtime. Finally, users can save preferences in the upload channel and automatically calculated, for example, for a specific digital camera type.
