Durst announces another new addition to the Rho Family of UV inkjet printers

Rho 600 Pictor

The Rho 600 Pictor is a compact version of the Rho 600. Utilising the same technology as other members of the Rho family, the Rho 600 Pictor is uniquely positioned being the first low priced, industrial standard, UV curing flatbed in the market.

The Pictor is particularly suited to the sign industry and smaller graphics houses which are likely to already have a certain level of flatbed business but are would like to make the most of this growing business sector.

Smaller than the Rho 600 at 160mm wide, the Pictor has many of the same features as its larger family members. This includes Durst’s own proven Quadro® Array printhead technology, which means that the print quality from the Pictor is of the highest standard. In fact, it offers an even higher resolution and is therefore ideally suited to printing small items typically produced by signage companies. This feature is further enhanced by special software which allows the printing of different small items alongside each other, maximising productivity and profitability.

The extremely compact size of this brand new machine means that it will fit in a customer’s premises with minimum disruption. However, its small size has not compromised the rugged construction, which, like other models in the Rho range, is build for durability and longevity. Additional Quadro Arrays can be added so that it is also able to be upgraded with additional printing features such as Durst’s world leading white ink printing and selective varnish. And using Durst Rho ink the print has excellent adhesion and flexibility.

“The Rho 600 Pictor is designed to fill a gap in the market,” said Richard Piock, CEO of the Durst Group: “It is the first serious production machine capable of heavy duty production whilst being priced close to entry level machines. It also extends the Rho Family of inkjets, which is the most comprehensive in the market. Add the fact that all Durst printers are capable of being upgraded and you can see that there is a Rho inkjet more closely suited to most businesses and applications.”

The Rho 600 Pictor will be available for delivery during July 2006.
